In Support Of Change Leaders

Posted on Nov 21, 2018 by st_admin

Change is hard.

And it really needs to be celebrated when it succeeds — even partially. It’s SO much easier to ‘cave in’ to the status quo.

Taking on inertia in any organisation requires a massive amount of energy, skill and determination. Those who are good at change make it look easy. Much like watching a tennis pro or golf champion. But make no mistake, change is fraught with endless unseen challenges and a great many mountains to climb behind the scenes which are not known to, let alone understood, by many observers. For many change initiators, it’s very stressful and personally confronting.

So when someone in your organisation chalks up a big win or is a catalyst for change or innovation, congratulate them and recognise their efforts. Chances are that they have paid a heavy price for their victories.

Don’t resent them, be jealous or try to compete with them.

And, perhaps take some time out and give support to someone you see who is in the middle of trying to change things for the better.

They will appreciate it much more than you may think!
